These Member Terms outline general expectations and guidelines for individuals and families who join Congregation Sha’arei Torah (“the synagogue,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By applying for membership, maintaining an active membership, or using member services connected to the synagogue, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
Membership
Membership at Congregation Sha’arei Torah reflects a commitment to supporting and participating in the life of the congregation. Membership may include access to synagogue communications, programs, registrations, and certain member services.
Membership is subject to approval and administration by synagogue leadership and may be renewed annually or according to the congregation’s current membership process.
Member Information
Members are responsible for providing accurate and current contact information, including names, email addresses, mailing addresses, and other relevant household details as needed for synagogue records.
The synagogue may rely on the information provided by members in order to communicate important updates, process registrations, maintain membership records, and support community engagement.
Dues, Donations, and Payments
Membership dues, donations, event fees, and other payments help support the religious, educational, and communal work of Congregation Sha’arei Torah.
Members are responsible for fulfilling agreed-upon financial commitments to the synagogue, unless other arrangements have been made directly with synagogue leadership.
Payment processing, registrations, and certain member account functions may be handled through ShulCloud, the synagogue’s membership and registration platform.
Online Accounts and Member Access
Where applicable, members may receive access to an online account or member portal connected to synagogue services. Members are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login information and for notifying the synagogue if they believe their account has been accessed without authorization.
The synagogue reserves the right to suspend, limit, or revoke online account access when necessary for administrative, security, or policy reasons.
Communications
Members may receive synagogue communications including newsletters, announcements, program updates, administrative notices, and other community information. Some communications may be sent through third-party platforms such as Mailchimp or ShulCloud.
Members may unsubscribe from certain general communications where permitted, though the synagogue may still send necessary administrative or account-related notices.
Community Standards
Congregation Sha’arei Torah is committed to maintaining a respectful, safe, and welcoming community environment. Members are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the values and standards of the congregation.
The synagogue reserves the right to address conduct that is disruptive, inappropriate, unsafe, or inconsistent with community expectations.
Third-Party Platforms
The synagogue may use third-party platforms, including Squarespace, Mailchimp, and ShulCloud, to support website operations, communications, registrations, and payments. Use of those services may also be subject to the terms, privacy practices, and security measures of those third-party providers.
